Eddie Hart Recreational Grounds - Trinidad

I did this sketch yesterday while relaxing by the Eddie Hart Recreational Grounds. The weather was beautiful and there were many people and families there. Kids riding their bicycles, adults running, people playing football, and others like me who simply sat, and enjoyed it all. There were many adults getting in shape as is usually the custom during this time of the year when people are preparing for Carnival.

What is Architecture?

The UIA defines the practice of architecture as: The provision of professional services in connection with town planning and the design, construction, enlargement, conservation, restoration, or alteration of a building or group of buildings. These professional services include, but are not limited to, planning and land-use planning, urban design, provision of preliminary studies, designs, models, drawings, specifications and technical documentation, coordination of technical documentation prepared by others (consulting engineers, urban planners, landscape architects and other specialist consultants) as appropriate and without limitation, construction economics, contract administration, monitoring of construction (referred to as «supervision» in some countries), and project management. (International Union of Architects)

What Is Planning?

Planning, also called urban planning or city and regional planning, is a dynamic profession that works to improve the welfare of people and their communities by creating more convenient, equitable, healthful, efficient, and attractive places for present and future generations. Planning enables civic leaders, businesses, and citizens to play a meaningful role in creating communities that enrich people’s lives. Good planning helps create communities that offer better choices for where and how people live. Planning helps communities to envision their future. It helps them find the right balance of new development and essential services, environmental protection, and innovative change. (American Planning Association)
