Sagrada Familia

Sagrada Familia

This is the Sagrada Familia by Antonio Gaudi in Barcelona, Spain. I did this during my 6 weeks of back-packing throughout Europe. We arrived early the morning and on exiting one of the narrow streets our professor took us through, this was our marvelous sight. Voila! Two friends and I climbed all the way up the tower via its very tight spiral stair. The view from the top was beautiful! I look forward to going back…and paying my way through Europe by my sketches. It’s one of my dreams.

The 30th World Wide SketchCrawl is coming up on Saturday, January 22nd 2011. I invite fellow sketchers to join me.

Duncan Street, Port of Spain, Trinidad

This is a sketch of Duncan Street in Port of Spain, Trinidad, previously known as Calle de Infante by the Spanish and renamed Rue des Trois Chandelles by the French settlers (according to NALIS).

Architecture in Port of Spain, Trinidad

This is a sketch of a green building that I particularly like in Port of Spain… It’s on Victoria Avenue I believe (correct me if I am wrong). It is another piece of the architectural heritage in Trinidad that is very rich in detail. I believe the building has tenants… (it needs a bit of a facade-lift – peeling paint, awnings) but it is just delightful.

This street has a lot of attractive buildings for sketching.. I will be back soon.

Change the world

16 Hours to Change the World

We may not be able to change the world in 8 hrs on the job…but we have 16 more hours to try.

We may be in a job we don’t like at present, embarking on an assignment we are not particularly excited about…or stuck in a rut. It’s part of life… Think about what you really want…or would like to do currently in your life… and spend your time doing it… work at it…continue to trust in your remarkableness and in your desire to change the world.

You want to travel, be part of a community, research, study, dance, sing, adopt puppies, invent a device to save a life, stand up to someone, make people laugh, spend more time with those who make you happy…decide to do it.. use your 16hrs wisely.

The world might be waiting for you…so please..hurry! Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and remember people are waiting for you to change the world.

Stuff

I needed a break from studying for an exam and decided to relax by drawing this… It’s just some of the  “stuff” that was around me. Some of my many treasured books, gifts, souvenirs, drawings, and artwork. They all contribute to my days, nights, and ideas… I hope your working space sparks your imagination and excitement for exploration…it should.
